Not everyone will experience symptoms, that is why regular screenings are important for early detection.

Unless Dr. Field tells you he is doing your oral cancer screening, you won’t even know its being done. It happens during your exam and takes just a few minutes. Dr. Field will be visually checking your mouth for sores, discoloration and white patches. He may also gently feel for any lumps in your mouth or neck.

If anything, unusual is discovered additional tests may be required or you may be asked to come back in a few weeks to see if there has been any changes.
